Lilly Endowment Winner Brings Creativity to Boone Prairie School

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Lilly Endowment Winner Brings Creativity to New Private School
When the doors at the new Boone Prairie School in Whitestown open this fall, Rachael Cotteleer will bring an extra creative spark to her students there. That’s because she has been awarded the Lilly Endowment Teacher Creativity Fellowship. The $12,000 grant will allow Cotteleer to study the therapeutic connection between people and animals.
Cotteleer’s “Paws-itively Powerful” program will fit in well with Boone Prairie’s philosophy for classical, hands-on, interactive learning. “I am excited to bring my research into such a unique classroom,” said Cotteleer.
Boone Prairie School is a new private school opening this fall in Whitestown. The school’s founders, husband and wife Bret and Shawna Reinhart, are local business owners with a passion for educating children using classical methods aligned with hands-on, interactive learning. “We are thrilled Rachael has chosen to bring her skill set and enthusiasm to Boone Prairie,” said Shawna Reinhart.
Boone Prairie will operate on a three-day per week schedule on campus, with two days at home working with parents. The classical approach is designed to influence independent thinking and foster a genuine desire on the part of the student to learn.
The school’s new building, set on a beautiful piece of property next to an 1800’s restored barn, will be complete this summer and classes begin in September.
